I remember the first time I had a milkshake at a cinema where I had gone to see Ninja Turtles some months back. I got a Kiwi smoothie and a milkshake but I fell in love with the milkshake just because it tasted so good.

A milkshake is just like an ice cream except that it is richer and creamier than an ice cream and the great thing about it is that it is easy to make!

This article will teach you creative ideas/recipes to make a basic milkshake at the comfort of your home. Excited? Let's get started!

You need a total of 10 minutes to get your milkshake ready, and the two major ingredients you need are:

• High-quality Milk (60ml)

• High-quality Vanilla ice cream (3 scoops)

You can still add flavorings of your choice if you wish, like Malt powder and Vanilla Extract.

1. Almost every type of milkshake has vanilla ice cream as a base and the vanilla ice cream is sweet enough that any extra flavorings will make the shake overly sweet. Go for a high density ice cream; get two brands of ice cream and weigh the both in your hand. The one that feels heavier will make a better milkshake. This reason is because ice creams that are lighter contain more air so when you mix the milkshake, you'd be introducing more air and you won't get a desirable thick and creamy consistency your milkshake needs.

2. Whole milk is preferable for a milk shake because it has fuller flavor and will make a thicker shake but if you prefer skimmed or soy milk, feel free to use them but they are just thinner than whole milk so if you using it then you adding less milk or little more ice cream for consistency. You wouldn't want your milkshake watery! Remember that the better quality ingredients you put in your milkshake, the better your milkshake so if you can get a high-quality locally produced milk, perfect!

1. Allow your ice cream to soften a bit. Don't put it in the mixer when it's still very cold and hard because you will end up adding a lot of milk to thin it out and that will leave your shake runny. For this same reason, don't add ice because it will water down your shake and dilute the flavor/creaminess. You know your ice cream is ready when it can be easily scooped; it shouldn't be melted or runny.

2. Add 3 scoops of the ice cream to your blender or milkshake mixer(whichever one you using). A milkshake mixer is best because it churns and aerates your milkshake at the same time but if you don't have a mixer, a blender is fine. And if you have neither a blender nor a mixer, use a large bowl and a whisk to beat the ice cream and milk together until smooth. As you are preparing your recipe, put the glass you intend to serve your shake with in the freezer. The reason is for it to be nice and chilled when you are ready to serve.

3. Pour in the 1/4 cup or 60ml of milk, and your additional ingredients like the vanilla extract. This is the time you can transform your milkshake into a Malt, Chocolate, Strawberry or even a Caramel-pretzel-chocolate-chip cake.

4. Blend your milkshake for about one minute. If you are using a blender, don't just turn it on and let it go. Remember you are not blending tomatoes. Alternate between pulsing the blender and then hand-mixing with a spoon. This will give you the same effect as a spindle milkshake mixer. No matter what method you use, just make sure your shake remains thick; you know this when you insert a spoon and tries to pull it out and the shake gives little resistance.

NOTE: If you like your shake lumpy, blend/mix for only 30-45 seconds. If it's too thick, add a splash of milk. If watery, add another scoop or half-scoop of ice cream(depends on how diluted your shake is).

5. Pour the milkshake into your chilled glass. If the milkshake is the right thickness and consistency, you should use spoon to get it out of the blender into the glass. You can top your shake with a healthy squirt of whipped cream or garnish with an extra ingredient of your choice like a fresh strawberry fruit if you made a strawberry milkshake.

Serve with a spoon or straw(it totally depends on the consistency).

Additional Tip: To make Chocolate shake

Add 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream and 60 ml of chocolate syrup to the blender. Please look for a chocolate sauce with a high cocoa unit for best flavor. You can enjoy your shake with snacks of your choice!

Secret tip: Try having any of these milkshakes with Oreos biscuit! I prefer to eat it with vanilla milkshake. The combo is a match made in heaven!

I hope you enjoy this, guys..
